Talking helps to create supportive communities where we feel empowered to seek help and support others. Speaking about mental health keeps the dialogue open and normalises a subject many of us face. Every year, one in 4 of us will experience a mental health problem (source: mind.org.uk). Time to Talk Day is about encouraging everyone to make space in their day for a conversation about mental health.

How do you participate?

Unfortunately, many people don’t feel comfortable about talking about mental health, especially if they fear judgment from others. Public awareness and understanding of mental health play an important role in ending the stigma around mental health issues, which only act as a barrier to those needing help and support.

Approximately only 1 in 3 adults with a common mental health problem are currently getting treatment in the form of talking therapies, medication, or both (source: mind.org.uk).

There are a lot of ways people can contribute to creating a positive attitude around how we view and support mental health.

Check in with a friend.

Ask questions and listen.

Think about time and place.

Don’t try and fix it.

Treat them the same.

Be patient.

Remember to look after yourself as well as others!!!

So happy, excited and humbled to announce that we were awarded Best Dental Laboratory UK AND Best Dental Technician UK at the Dentistry Awards

Our fabulous director, Emily Pittard, was crowned ‘Dental Technician of the Year’ for the second year running and in a category full of incredible laboratories were we so honoured to be finalists, let alone win Best Dental Laboratory!

This is the dental profession’s biggest celebration, recognising excellence in UK & Irish dentistry for over a decade so we are so proud of our team.

We are so excited to share the new premises with you and to show you the before and afters of what we have been working on… here’s a little sneak peak.

Our fabulous director, Emily Pittard, was crowned ‘Dental Technician of the Year’ for 2020 at prestigious Dentistry Awards virtual ceremony recently.

This is the dental profession’s biggest celebration, recognising excellence in UK & Irish dentistry for over a decade. Emily was up against some stiff competition from across the UK, so we are so proud of her win.

From finalist to winner! We are over the moon that we won an award for the BEST Dental Implant Laboratory in the UK!! Our lab team minus one of our dental artisans, Simon Morgan, (you have to come next year buddy!) all travelled to The Royal Garden hotel in Kensington. With bubbles at a drinks reception prior to the award ceremony we were asked to pose with a finalists banner for their photographer. We proceeded to a candle lit dinner, then onto the long awaited award ceremony! Dorset Dental Laboratory was then announced after a pause for effect by the speaker, as the best implant laboratory in the UK! We made our way up on stage to accept our award and had feel a celebrity status as we were photographer non-stop!

So proud to be bringing the best implant laboratory to Dorset! Well done team!

The laboratory director, Emily Pittard, was also nominated by a dental clinic as being the best team member in the UK from which she won an award for being highly commended. We are so ecstatic that we have 2 awards from 2 different award ceremonies!

2020 is looking very exciting, we have new equipment being delivered, we plan to expand over two bases on two sites as the demand for our services is so great!
